Learn to Rope: Available for all Ages
Learn
to rope like a real cowboy. Meet Menny, our foreman and horse trainer from
Chihuahua, Mexico, in the back yard of the Butler-Cape House or in the corral
for an authentic roping lesson. (No riding included.)
Practice roping on a dummy, and if you demonstrate the necessary skills, we’ll round up a calf for you. When you're ready, you can advance to roping off a horse. See more pricing options on our Horseback Riding page.

Fishing
Fish
the old fashioned way with a cane pole and live bait. Guests at 74 Ranch can
fish the day away at Parker Pond located a short distance from the main house.
We will provide the bait and poles. Read

Don’t want to fish? Then pick up a towel and head to the beach area to relax or just splash in the pond.

Evening Marshmallow Roast and Ghost Stories

Enjoy
your own private island while listening to Big Scarecorn Creek tumbling
over the rocks.

Rain? No Problem! We've Got You Covered
Our
Saddle House
is perfect for board games and card games (provided). We can give
you an orientation on the differences in the saddles and tack. Or you can
get a safety lesson on guns and use our indoor BB gun/pellet gun shooting
range.
In the farmhouse we have a DVD player where you can watch Westerns and an assortment of movie genres.
