CLASSES FOR YOUNG AND OLD THAT MAKE LEARNING FUN
You might be surprised to hear it, but a lot of our ranch guests enjoy watching the horses, but have no desire to ride them. And we love that! We take great pleasure in introducing non-riders to all facets of these magnificent animals – from the ground. In fact, riding is just one part of everything there is to know and do with horses.
These classes are custom-tailored to your interest. Here's just a sampling of all there is to learn and see:
Treat
yourself to an informative, hands on study of horses and their mutual history
with man.
A
walking tour of our barn and birthing center, learning how imprinting sets
the stage for a safe horse-human relationship and how foals are taught to
be a horse in the herd.
Take
a truck ride through our pasture to see our Longhorn
and Corriente cattle close up.
Learn the history and importance of these traditional breeds.
A
hands on session on rope handling, knot tying, how cowboys safely rope bulls
from horseback and the correct way to use a lasso.
Touch
and take apart all the tack that cowboys use everyday.
See what it’s for, how it works, how it fits on the horse, and why there are many different kinds of saddles.
All classes are $40.00 per hour per family. After your class, we will help you search our library for books on your topic to enjoy during your stay.
